Peggy Bolcoa
Greetings, I’m Peggy Bolcoa — a licensed marriage and family therapist. I truly believe that we as humans need to learn as much as possible about relationships before getting into one.
I’ve provided counseling for 23 years for various couples and families and I enjoyed every minute of it. The reason why I chose this profession is simple — I admire human relationships and often find it astonishing for myself. When I was a teenager I indulged in books on psychotherapy while my peers were gossiping about boys from the neighborhood.
I was licensed by the state of California. I’m using a special emotionally-focused treatment while working with clients. Why? Because it’s the most effective method to improve attachment and bonding in adult relationships. Moreover, I noticed that many of us lack emotional awareness and avoid unpleasant emotions. It can harm relationships and gradually ruin them.
It’s important to highlight that relationships often involve mutual appreciation and respect. However, due to a lack of healthy conversations, many couples cease to truly value each other. My work focuses on helping partners identify their attachment style and realize how this attachment style impacts communication. I worked with different couples whose attachment styles made them feel insecure.
I strongly believe that emotionally-focused therapy helps couples to reboot the connection by exchanging thoughts, sharing ideas and general feelings, as well as incorporating engaging activities into their lives. Everyone who gets into new relationships should be not only physically, but emotionally ready for them.
Have you ever noticed that you no longer share your inner fears or feelings with your partner? Or maybe you constantly fell into a new conflict leaving you with nothing but resentment? The most common reason for quitting relationships in some couples is their lack of healthy communication or untold expectations.
Now I’m offering individual therapy as well as couples counseling and marriage counseling in Costa Mesa, CA, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Irvine, CA. On this website, I will be reviewing the content that is connected to relationship psychotherapy. Plus, I’ll share my personal views on each piece and bring out truthful comments. I also understand that psychotherapy may be far-fetched for most people who haven’t studied it. That’s why I decided to transform complicated scientific explanations into a simple person-friendly language.
My goal is to help people understand the importance of emotional awareness and the effective ways to sustain healthy communication in any type of relationship.
